Spray paint on canvas, 2018

This gallery series examines the relationship between tool, technique, and artistic intention. The first piece challenges freehand pattern-making with an aerosol tool that requires precise distance control, investigating where human imperfection meets material possibility.

The second work employs directional line-pulling with intentional negative space at the canvas bottom, creating visual tension that pulls viewers forward while questioning spatial completion.

The third piece reinterprets Damien Hirst's dot paintings through fat cap spray technique, creating an imperfect grid system that relies on viewer perception to complete its pattern. Beyond this obvious art-historical reference, the colorful dot variation also references contemporary digital aesthetics from games like Candy Crush—a "pop off" rather than pop art.
